A New Hampshire firefighter was burned while battling a three-alarm house fire Thursday.
Northwood crews responded to the residential fire at about 8:45 a.m., WMUR-TV reports. Two people who were inside the home when the fire were able to safely escaped, but one person remains missing.
By the time crews reached the scene, flames had engulfed the structure.
"When I got here, the fire was through the roof," Fire Chief Mark Tetreault told WMUR. "The term 'fully-involved' is a very overused term, but not in this case. It was. There was fire coming out of every window and through the roof, and it was not a saveable structure at that point."
During the call, a firefighter suffered second-degrees to the wrist and face. The firefighter was taken to the hospital and released but will probably miss at least a week of work.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
