Portland Fire & Rescue's photographer captured video of the intense smoke explosion during a three-alarm fire earlier this week.

Several Portland firefighters were working outside the building at Hawthorne Boulevard and 13th Avenue Tuesday afternoon when the smoke explosion rocked the fire scene.

The explosion captured in Greg Muhr's video happened suddenly, blowing a large column of smoke and flames into the street where two firefighters were scene moving a hoseline.

In the video captured by Muhr, an emergency tone is activated moments after the explosion and a personnel accountability report is called for.

Portland Fire & Rescue officials said two firefighters suffered minor injuries in the blast and said the members injuries were minor because they were wearing all of their PPE.
