Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a massive fire that tore through a warehouse in New Cumberland early Thursday morning.

Local firefighters worked through the night to put out a fire that engulfed a Cumberland County warehouse, dispatchers said.

The massive blaze broke out around 12:30 a.m. Thursday on the 500 block of Water Street in New Cumberland, according to county dispatch. The last fire crews did not leave the scene until about 6:45 a.m.

No one was injured in the fire, dispatchers said. Social media photos and videos show a raging fire tearing through the building.

The New Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department told PennLive the cause of the fire is unknown as of Thursday morning.

The fire department on Facebook said “excessive overhaul” will be required due to the fire. They asked residents to avoid the area for safety reasons until the fire was extinguished.

Lower Allen Fire Co. No. 1 wrote on Facebook that its firefighters assisted at the scene for about three hours.
