FDNY Battles Five-Alarm Harlem Commercial Fire

A commercial fire ripped through a series of shops in Harlem overnight and into early Wednesday morning. The fire reached five alarms and required 44 units consisting of 198 fire and EMS personnel at the scene, the FDNY said.
The fire, located on the 400 block of Lenox Ave., consisted of a row of one-story restaurants and shops. FDNY crew set up multiple aerial devices to contain and control the overnight fire.
Firefighters battled the blaze for four hours before bringing it under control. One firefighter was injured and treated at a Harlem hospital, according to officials.
