Three-Alarm Fire Tears Through MA Building

Nov. 3, 2021
Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze that ripped through a building housing a restaurant and upper-floor apartments in Everett early Wednesday.

Nov. 3—A three alarm fire that broke out in Everett early Wednesday morning displaced at least two dozen residents and caused a restaurant to close, according to Fire Chief Scott Dalrymple.

Firefighters were called to 749 Broadway street around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday when a police officer noticed the flames, Dalrymple told the Herald.

The fire ripped through the building leaving the entire third floor destroyed and the remainder of the building, including the basement, with significant damage.

All the residents got out safely with no injuries reported, Dalrymple said. A restaurant housed in the same building, called Oliveira's, is closed due to the blaze.

An investigation into how the fire started is ongoing.
