Mayday Called During NH Hoarder Home Fire

A mayday was called during a Manchester dwelling fire Monday morning when two firefighters became disoriented amid hoarding conditions.

The Manchester Fire Department was summoned to a reported residential structure fire on Monday morning that received multiple 911 calls.

Firefighters arrived to find a 2.5-story home with heavy fire and smoke conditions present, and seven children and two adults were able to make it out safely prior to their arrival.

Crews made an interior attack and were confronted with hoarding conditions, causing two firefighters to call a mayday after they became disoriented.

Additional firefighters sent to locate the disoriented members found them making their way out and assisted them to safety. The firefighters were not injured during the mayday event.
