NJ Apartment Fire Victim Requires Medevac

One occupant needed to be flown by helicopter to an area hospital as a three-alarm fire damaged a 12-unit apartment building in Flemington.

A three-alarm fire that tore through 12 units of a Flemington apartment complex Monday night severely burned one resident, who was flown by helicopter to a hospital, authorities said.

The fire broke out around 9 p.m. at the Hunter Hills Apartment Complex on North Main Street. Two Flemington police officers were the first on the scene and evacuated the apartments, officials said.

Firefighters from throughout Hunterdon County responded to help battle the blaze.

Additional details about the condition of the resident burned in the fire were not immediately available.

The Red Cross is assisting those displaced from damaged apartments, officials said.
