Watch: MO FFs Narrowly Avoid Wall Collapse

Jan. 5, 2022
Firefighters from the Winfield-Foley Fire Department had a near-miss incident when a wall collapsed moments after they left the area they were working.

Winfield-Foley firefighters operating at a house fire moved moments before a stone veneer wall tumbled down moments after they moved away from a Winfield house fire.

“I could hear it crackling and said the wall is coming down, as we were walking around to the front, I could hear that sound that the wall was going to collapse. It was three to four seconds. I hollered that the wall was coming down," Battalion Chief Mark Lodes told Fox2Now.com.

Multiple fire departments assisted during operations including shuttling water to the incident in the  500 block of Highway Y.
