St. Louis firefighters were called to the 1500 block of Salisbury Street early Monday morning to battle a structure fire.
Crews arrived to find heavy fire in in the basement and first floor of a vacant two-story brick building with an occupied exposure adjacent to the fire.
Crews could not fight the fire from the inside because the building was already in bad shape, according to KMOV4 News.
Firefighters set up defensive operations outside of the collapse zone with two aerials and two handlines to control the fire and protect exposures.
