April 25, 2022
Boston firefighters battled flames in a 2-1/2-story dwelling that sent two children and two adults to the hospital and displaced 17 people.

A heavy blaze in Mattapan sent two adults and two children to the hospital Sunday morning, according to the Boston Fire Department.

Firefighters were able to knock down the heavy fire at the Deering Road home and stop the blaze from spreading to neighboring buildings.

The two adults and two children were transported to the hospital by Boston EMS.

Heavy fire was reported on the rear porches and in the attic.

“All companies are ordered off the 3rd floor rear porches as the fire has burned thru,” Boston Fire tweeted during the fire.

“Companies did a great job with the amount of fire in the rear, to stop the fire from spreading to the adjacent buildings,” Boston Fire tweeted after firefighters knocked the fire down.
