Providence firefighters used a ladder to rescue an occupant from second-story porch early Saturday.
In a video that captured the harrowing moments before the rescue, the man's escape path was cut off and fire was showing from windows on either side of him on the second floor.
The three-alarm fire burned through the roof of the Rhodes Street home, according to WPRI.
Fire officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
