Man Charged with Obstructing Seneca Falls, NY, Firefighters

Seneca Falls firefighters told police the man refused to leave the property and interfered with their efforts.

A Seneca Falls man was arrested Monday afternoon after preventing firefighters from extinguishing a blaze at his home.

Seneca Falls firefighters told police that James A. Jacobs, 63, refused to leave the property and interfered with them as they attempted to extinguish the fire, according to Fingerlakes1. 

Once Jacobs was removed from the scene, firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.

Jacobs with charged with obstructing fire operations, a class A misdemeanor. He was given an appearance ticket, and released.
