Photos: Victim Rescued from Lackawanna, NY, Christmas Morning Fire
Photos captured by FBNY showed the rescue efforts by firefighters and police during a Christmas morning house fire in Lackawanna.
Firefighters were dispatched to possible fire on Colton Avenue just after 7 a.m.
Engine 3 arrived within three minutes with nothing showing, until finding heavy fire conditions in the rear fo the 2 1/2-story home, FBNY reported.
About 40 minutes after crews arrived, they pulled a male from the home. Firefighters and police used ladders to remove the victim from the front bay window.
FBNY reported that the man was breathing and concious before he was transported from the scene.
According to WKBW.com, the man was in serious condition at Erie County Medical Center.
The fire was placed under control in two hours.
The fire reached two alarms and off-duty firefighters were recalled to assist with the fire.
