Photos: Defensive Attack Used on Buffalo, NY, Bar Fire
A request to assist police at a bar in Buffalo early Sunday morning turned in to a two-alarm fire.
Buffalo Fire Department Engine 2 was sent to help police at Mulligan's Brick Bar on Allen Street around 4 a.m. and they arrived to find smoke coming from the three-story building, according to FBNY.com.
Crews found fire conditions in the rear of the building and, upon entry into the front of the building, firefighters encountered zero-visibility conditions.
B-56 (battalion chief) ordered a second alarm due to heavy fire conditions and firefighters were eventually ordered out of the building as flames spread through the ordinary constructed building.
Four aerial ladders were used to bring the fire under control just after 6:30 a.m.
Days before this fire, a suspect in an alleged arson fire at a bar adjacent to this building, was released from jail. The June 2024 fire destroyed the Old Pink Bar next to Mulligan's Brick Bar.
Fire investigators were trying to determine the cause of the fire Sunday morning, and an emergency demolition was requested due to the damage sustained by the building.
