Two firefighters and two civilians were transported to a local hospital for injuries during the early morning two-alarm fire.

A two-alarm fire in Allentown on Wednesday morning sent four people to the hospital and displaced two residents.

The fire department posted on social media just before 8 a.m. that firefighters were in the 100 block of North 13th Street for a dwelling fire. Lehigh County 911 dispatchers said the call for the fire came in about 7:45 a.m.

Deputy Fire Chief Christian Williams said about 9:50 a.m. that the fire was under control and contained to the building. There was smoke damage to neighboring properties, he said.

Two firefighters and two civilians were transported to a local hospital for injuries, which Williams said are not believed to be life-threatening. He said two residents are displaced, and the cause is under investigation.
