Submit Your Nominations for the NVFC’s National Fire Service Achievement Awards
The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is now accepting nominations for the following four volunteer fire service awards: William J. Darley Lifetime Achievement Award, Chief James P. Seavey Sr. Health and Wellness Leadership Award, Junior Firefighter of the Year, and Junior Firefighter Program of the Year. Recognize the contributions of outstanding members of your fire department and junior firefighter program by submitting your nominations by 5pm EST on January 17.
The recipients of the William J. Darley Lifetime Achievement Award, Chief James P. Seavey Sr. Health and Wellness Leadership Award, and Junior Firefighter of the Year will receive a trip for themselves and a guest to attend the NVFC awards celebration on May 9, 2025, in Alexandria, VA. The Junior Firefighter Program of the Year recipient will be recognized at a local presentation so all members of their program can participate.
The William J. Darley Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Darley, honors a volunteer firefighter who has served for at least 20 years and whose remarkable achievements in the fire service and community exemplifies outstanding performance.
The Chief James P. Seavey Sr. Health and Wellness Leadership Award, co-sponsored by VFIS and Ward Diesel Filter Systems, honors an active volunteer firefighter, EMS provider, or rescue worker who has served as a leader in creating or promoting emergency responder health and wellness programs or initiatives.
The Junior Firefighter of the Year Award, sponsored by California Casualty, honors a junior firefighter who has gone above and beyond in their service to their fire department.
The Junior Firefighter Program of the Year, sponsored by California Casualty, honors a junior firefighter program or Explorer Post that has demonstrated significant community impact, innovation, and creativity.
