Three people were hurt when the roof of a post office facility in Houston fell on them during severe weather Thursday.
The collapse happened just before noon at a U.S. Postal Service mail distribution center on the city's northeast side, the Houston Fire Department said. The building was occupied when the flat roof gave way, but the people inside were able to escape the wreckage.
The three people inside suffered minor injuries from the collapse, and they were taken to a local hospital, according to the fire department. Details concerning the extent of their injuries weren't released.
Photos taken by the fire department following the collapse show debris from the roof piled on vehicles parked near the postal facility. What caused the roof to collapse isn't known yet.
According to KTRK-TV, parts of Houston and southeast Texas were encountering heavy rain and flash flooding.
