MD Firefighter Suffers Burns Battling House Fire

Firefighters from Anne Arundel County and other departments responded to a fire that broke out at an unoccupied Annapolis home.

A Maryland firefighter was injured battling a house fire Monday.

The fire broke out shortly after 8 p.m. at an unoccupied Annapolis home, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department stated in a news release. As crews from multiple departments arrived at the scene, they discovered flames coming from the front and a side of the structure.

One firefighter suffered minor burns during the call. He was taken to the burn center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and was later released.

Crews were able to make quick work of the fire, getting it under control in about 15 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
