FDNY firefighters battled a two-alarm fire that injured two people, including a firefighter, and destroyed a Chinese restaurant in Brooklyn early Sunday.
Firefighters arrived at Sing Hau Kitchen in the Flatlands neighborhood to find smoke pushing from the two-story structure. Crews opened up the building to gain access and extinguish the heavy fire conditions.
A hazardous materials response was required due to lithium-ion batteries that were involved in the fire, according to a report by NEWS 12 The Bronx.
The fire gutted the first floor restaurant and damaged an apartment on the second floor.
