Pre-Arrival Video: Multiple NJ Homes Damaged by Fire

April 6, 2022
Three homes were damaged in the Ortley Beach section of Toms River after a shed fire spread to neighboring homes.

Multiple fire departments battled a fire in Toms River that damaged three homes after a shed caught fire and spread to the adjacent properties.

Chief Drew Calvo of the Ocean Beach Volunteer Fire Company said the fire happened on the 2000 block of Bay Boulevard and spread to a house on First Avenue, app.com reported.

The small lots and close proximity of the properties enhanced the fire’s ability to spread to adjacent structures.

Nearby fire departments provided assistance, including Toms River, Seaside Park, Lavallette and Brick.
