April 12, 2022
A crash between a sedan and a box truck caught on MnDOT cameras resulted in a massive fire.

An accident involving a box truck traveling eastbound on Highway 10 in Blaine and a sedan entering from the on-ramp sparked a massive fire that was caught on camera.

A MnDOT traffic camera captured the incident, showing a speeding car driving onto the highway from an on-ramp appearing to be out of control.

The car impacted the front of the eastbound box truck, causing the truck driver to overcorrect and smash into the highway’s side wall, nearly driving off the overpass onto MN 65. The box truck then becomes engulfed in flames, according to a report by WCCO TV.

Fire crews from Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire Department were called to battle the blaze and provide care for any injured occupants.

Both drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries described a non-life threatening. Investigators suspect the driver of the car was “driving while impaired.”
