The CAL FIRE San Benito-Monterey Unit announced that firefighter Kaci Adams tragically lost his life in an off duty accident.
According to KION546, California Highway Patrol Monterey responded a single-vehicle crash on Lewis Creek Road and southbound Highway 25 at 10:50 a.m. on Sunday.
They saw a grey Nissan Versa had crashed through a barbed wire fence.
The 24-year-old Adams was airlifted to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
CHP believes Adams had a hard time turning onto Southbound Highway 25, which led the car to go airborne and into a barbed wire fence.
