NJ Apartment Building Fire Claims Youth: Mom, Sister Critically Injured

A 12-year-old boy was killed and his mother and sister are in critical condition following a fire Sunday night in Maple Shade that damaged 16 apartments, police said.
The fire broke out at the Fox Meadows apartment complex on Adams Drive shortly before 10:30 p.m. and inured three others, Maple Shade police said.
The identity of the boy wasn’t immediately disclosed by police.
Firefighters from Maple Shade and surrounding towns brought the fire under control at about 11:40 p.m.
In all, 22 families were displaced, Red Cross New Jersey said. The Red Cross provided food, clothing and temporary housing to 40 people from 12 families, it said.
Video obtained by 6abc.com shows fire and smoke pouring out of a building in the complex as well as a person being wheeled out on a stretcher by emergency workers.
The state Fire Marshalls Office, The Burlington County Fire Marshalls Office and Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office are involved in the investigation along with Maple Shade police and the town’s fire department.
