Baltimore firefighters say the victim, who may have been lending aid at the first crash scene, was thrown over the jersey wall on I-395.

A person, possibly helping at the scene of a collision on an interstate in Baltimore, is dead after he was thrown over a bridge into the water below.

Baltimore firefighters and EMTs were assessing people at a crash on I-395 Sunday night when a second multi-vehicle collision occurred, WBAL reported.

The victim, who has not been identified, was knocked over the wall and fell more than 100 feet into the water.

"They did locate an unconscious and unresponsive individual from the water," Baltimore Fire PIO Kevin Cartwright told reporters at the scene.

"We're still assessing at this moment who this individual was. It's believed that he may have been off rendering some aid to a vehicle that was already in a motor-vehicle collision."

There was no information that any firefighters or police officers were injured.
