Two people died in a three-alarm house fire in Union Township early Sunday.

“They’re still investigating the origins of the fire,” Union Fire Chief Gregory Ricciardi said.

The fire broke out around 5:45 a.m at a two-story family house on Grandview Avenue, Ricciardi said.

Two people were found dead on the second floor of the residence, he said

Another occupant who was on the first floor sustained some burns to his right arm, the chief said

“He attempted to put a ladder up on the lefthand side of the house…to assist in a rescue with a garden hose at some point,” Ricciardi said.

Authorities are still investigating the fire to determine its cause and origin, officials said.

No firefighters were injured during this incident, investigators said.
