TX Crews Use Tools to Rescue Men from House Fire

Nov. 29, 2023
Fort Worth medics also used Cyanokit on the victims which eliminates carbon monoxide from the bloodstream.

Two men were hospitalized after they were trapped in a burning home in west Fort Worth.

Firefighters said burglar bars made it difficult to rescue them, Fox 4 reported.

By the time they broke through the bars, the man was unconscious.

Using a thermal imaging camera, they found  a second unconscious man in a room toward the back of the house.

Medics used Cyanokit which is used for smoke inhalation patients.

"We use those things multiple times throughout the year. They are truly lifesaving. We are glad that we do keep those on every battalion chief’s car and our medic units throughout the city. So any incident like this, it’s gonna guarantee we are gonna have those units on scene when we need them the most," said Craig Trojacek, a spokesman for the fire department.
