The family of a homeless man are seeking answers after his body was found in a garage 10 days after a fire.
Trent Tuttle's family reported him missing after they hadn't heard from him in several days, FirstAlert4 reported.
He and other homeless people were known to stay in a garage behind a condeimned house.
Belleville firefighters had conducted a primary search of all visible areas after they extinguished the fire, but found nothing.
They returned to the property at the request of a Belleville police officer who was handling the case.
“Mr. Tuttle was found behind false walls in the attic space after an additional search. The Belleville Fire Department wishes to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Tuttle," Fire Chief Stephanie Mills said in a statement.
