Controlled Burn of Pumpkin Barn Allows Canfield, OH, Firefighters to Hone Skills

Firefighters in the Cardinal Joint Fire District took advantage of a training opportunity Saturday at the Canfield Fairgrounds.

Among the crews who honed their skills in the Pumpkin Barn included those from Poland, Jackson and Beaver Townships. 

“A good portion of our day-to-day operations is EMS, so fires — we don’t get a lot of them. So this is a good opportunity for us to come together and train, and being in a controlled environment — it’s safe," Canfield Firefighter Joshua Grossman told WKBN. 

The pumpkin display For the 2024 Canfield Fair will be in another structure.
