A Wednesday morning fire at a business in Lehigh County remains under investigation.

Firefighters were called about 5:45 a.m. to Fastenal at 431 S. Route 100 for a report of a fire there, according to Upper Macungie Township police. The two-alarm fire caused damage to the building, according to Lt. Peter Nickischer.

Photos of the fire posted on social media showed smoke billowing from the building while firefighters battled the blaze. The location is a fulfillment center for Fastenal, which is a supply chain solutions company and a wholesale distributor, according to the company’s website.

Nickischer said the building was not occupied at the time and no one was injured. Route 100 was closed in the area of the fire while crews responded to the scene. Roads reopened about 9 a.m.

Township police and a state police fire marshal are investigating the fire. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 484-661-5911.
