Jul. 1—The Luling Fire Department said a fire that started near the new Buc-ee's in Luling Monday morning has been put out.

People are asked to avoid the area where fire crews responded to a structure fire near I-10 and 183, a post by the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Management said. According to media reports, the fire occurred at the old Buc-ee's location, which was next to the new store.

Though the fire was located close to the convenience store, officials said the new Buc-ee's building was unharmed. The 75,000-square-foot store opened last month and is the largest Buc-ee's store open to date.

A Luling Volunteer Firefighter said the fire began around 10 a.m., according to KSAT.
