Fire Rips Through Modesto, CA, Mobile Home Park

Aug. 13, 2024
Five mobile homes were destroyed in the three-alarm fire that remains under investigation.

Modesto firefighters called for additional resources Monday afternoon as fire ripped through a mobile home park.

At least five mobile homes were destroyed while another sustained damage.

"Some of the challenges we faced here in this fire were water supply and access issues. The trailer park was built a long time ago. The roads aren't very wide and there are a few interweb roads. So it's not easy for us to get all of our apparatus into the actual scene. Some of the rigs are parked outside the park,"  Modesto Firefighter Joseph Spani told KCRA.

Two residents were transported for checkups while a firefighter suffered a minor injury.
