One person was hurt and at least 10 boats were damaged when a fire broke out Sunday afternoon at Silver Lake Marina in Grapevine, sending a huge plume of black smoke billowing into the air.

The blaze was extinguished after several area fire departments were called to assist, authorities said.

Grapevine fire responded at about 1:23 p.m. on Sunday and reported the fire extinguished about four hours later, a city spokesperson said. One person was injured in the fire, according to Mona Quintanilla, communications director for the city of Grapevine.

Quintanilla said four boats had significant damage and six others had minor to moderate damage. She added an electrical short or fuel explosion were being investigated as possible causes of the fire.
