More than 50 firefighters put out a large fire in North Hollywood on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 20.
Firefighters responded around 4 p.m. to a large exterior fire at 11115 W. Vanowen St., near Vineland Avenue, next to railroad tracks and a commercial building, according to an alert from the Los Angeles Fire Department.
News video from the scene on ABC7 showed active flames at the site with a large plume of smoke billowing into the air.
Within 56 minutes, firefighters put out the blaze without any injuries reported.
The building has placards indicating it has potentially hazardous materials, and the fire department’s hazardous materials team responded. Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to the exposed commercial building.
The fire broke out at movie prop maker California Art Products, ABC7 reported.
An extended overhaul operation was planned, the fire department said.
