Mother, Son Killed in Cicero, IL, House Fire

Cicero firefighters rescued another woman while a father and son escaped on their own, Fire Chief Jeff Penzkofer said.

A massive house fire in Cicero has claimed a mother and teenage son.

Firefighters were able to rescue an older woman from a window, but were unable to reach the victims on the second floor, Cicero Fire Chief Jeff Penzkofer said at a press conference.

Two others, the father and his son, managed to escape the fire that spread to a vacant house next door.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
