The victims were a man and a woman while a repairman was hurt, Bethel-Tate Fire Chief Christopher Cooper said.

Two people were killed and another person was injured in a house explosion in Bethel.

Bethel-Tate Fire Chief Christopher Cooper told WLWT the victims were a man and a woman. while a heating repairman was hurt.

Debris from the blast was strewn over a wide area. Several houses sustained damage.

Neighbors said they talked to the victim who was burned and covered in soot. 

"He’s bent over with his hands on his knees, trying to trying to get his breath. His face was dirty. I got closer and was like 'are you ok?' and his whole hair was singed. And me and the other neighbor said you need to go get an ambulance," Neighbor Stephanie Young said.

The man's current condition is unknown at this time.

The Ohio fire marshal's office is investigating.
