An arson task force is investigating an apartment building fire in Jersey City where three trapped residents were rescued by firefighters.
The fire broke out in the basement of the four-story building just before 6 a.m. and quickly sent smoke throughout.
A first-floor tenant found duct tape that had been mysteriously placed over his doorbell camera. He looked back at the clips and found someone hiding their face with papers as they placed tape over the camera, abc7 reported.
Two residents were transported to a hospital, and a firefighter suffered a shoulder injury.
