Detroit Fire Department crews are battling a massive blaze that erupted early Wednesday at the historic Woodbridge Gallery on the city's west side.

Firefighters arrived to the scene on the 1700 block of West Forest Avenue approximately five minutes and 49 seconds after someone called 911 about the blaze at 4:14 a.m., the department told The Detroit News.

The closed building, a former performance venue, was engulfed in flames through the roof. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to a neighboring building, city officials said.

Crews are investigating the cause. No one was injured in the fire.
