A two-alarm fire brought multiple fire companies to Coplay Borough as fire damaged two homes.

A two-alarm fire damaged two homes in Coplay Borough Saturday morning.

The fire was reported just before 8 a.m. on South Front Street and firefighters found flames issuing from the first floor of a two-story home, according to the video posted by NewsWorking on YouTube.

The fire spread to an adjacent home, requiring more resources to contain the fire, and a second alarm was called.

Firefighters remained on scene for seven hours, the Coplay Fire Department shared in a message on Facebook.

In the video posted by NewsWorking on YouTube, they shared:

"At 7:52AM Saturday morning, December 14, 2024, Lehigh County Fire Radio transmitted the box for 16 South Front Street in Coplay Borough for a fire in a private dwelling sending Station 5, Engine 42, 38, Quint 18, Ladder 2, Rescue Engine 11, Engine 29 (F.A.S.T.) and Medic 62. Chief 18 was a couple blocks away and reported a working fire with smoke and fire showing first floor of a 2-story house. Engine 5 arrived and immediately stretched two hand lines, one in the front door and one between the main fire building and exposure 2 for protection. With Exposure 2 now burning, Chief 18 struck out the 2nd alarm. Lehigh County sent Engine 39, 12, 45, Ladder 42, rescue 42, Rescue 11, Northampton County 14 for F.A.S.T., Air 32, Rehab 101 and Medic 62."
