Salina, N.Y. — Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a fire Tuesday night at a state Thruway office building in Salina.

Firefighters were called to the building at 290 Elwood Davis Road at 7:45 p.m., according to Onondaga County 911 dispatchers. Smoke could be seen filling the first floor of the three-story building.

At 8:10 p.m., it was reported by dispatchers that parts of the second floor had collapsed into the first floor.

While fire could not be seen from outside the building, large amounts of smoke could be seen coming from the entrance.

Firefighters used large fans to attempt to ventilate the building. As of 11 p.m., firefighters were still on the scene.

Various businesses use the office building, including the Utica College nursing annex, LIFEPlan CCO NY, and Advocates Inc.
