Firefighters Rescue Child from PA Grain Bin

Firefighters were called to grain bin filled with corn in Latimore Township where the found a child trapped.

A child found trapped and buried inside a corn-filled grain bin was rescued Monday afternoon in Adams County.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 100 block of Hoffman Road in Latimore Township after a report was made at 5:45 p.m. for a grain bin rescue, according to a report from Dover Township Fire Department.

Emergency crews from York Springs Fire Company No. 1 and the Dover Township Fire Department found the child conscious and breathing in a grain bin with corn buried in up to his head.

Firefighters said they were able to free the child within 30 minutes. The fire department did not say how long the child was trapped inside the grain bin.

The child was transported by EMS for evaluation.
