Mount Kisco firefighters worked to secure a heavy concrete balcony that fell from the seventh to sixth floor of an apartment building last month.

New York crews responded to the collapse of a seventh-story apartment balcony last month.

The incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. July 31 at the Stewart Heights Apartments, according to Richard T. Hooker of the Mount Kisco Fire Department. No one was trapped under the heavy concrete balcony, which fell from the seventh to sixth floor.

The Westchester County Technical Rescue Team was called in to help Mount Kisco crews. A crane was used to secure the building, while a Mount Kisco aerial, as well as a Chappaqua Fire Department aerial, attached a wire rope under the sixth-floor balcony to support the weight of the collapse as investigators and contractors worked.

Hooker captured photos of firefighters working at the collapse. Crews were finished at the scene at around 11:45 p.m.
