Three people were killed, including a child, in a Las Vegas crash involving a car and a truck towing an off-road vehicle Thursday.
Firefighters and police responded to an accident that happened before 2:30 p.m. along U.S. 95, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said in an online update. According to police, a speeding white sedan swerved across a restricted part of an on-ramp and collided with a truck, sending both vehicles over the roadway's edge.
"When we were finally able to get the vehicles apart and over the wall to continue our investigation, our fatal team did locate three individuals in the sedan," said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jason Buratczuk told KTNV-TV. "Two appear adult age and one child and we also found a deceased dog in the car.".
Crews needed several hours to reach the victims through the sedan's wreckage, according to KTNV. Police are looking at footage from multiple cameras to determine what led to the fatal accident.
