Chicago Fire Rescues Nine after Boat Overturns

Chicago crews pulled at least nine people from Lake Michigan, including three who suffered minor injuries, after a boat capsized Saturday.

Jul. 6--A boat capsized near Diversey Harbor, and at least nine people were pulled from the water including two teenage boys and a 44-year-old woman who suffered minor injuries, officials said.

Officials were alerted to the boat in distress about 12:30 p.m. near the harbor in the 2800 block of North Lake Shore Drive. The boat capsized, and at least nine people landed in the water, Chicago police said.

A 13-year-old boy who hurt his wrist was taken to Lurie Children's Hospital, and a 16-year-old boy and the 44-year-old woman were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

All were listed in good condition, Chicago Fire Department officials said. Four refused medical help.
