The operation to rescue the victims stranded in the Santa Ana River bottom lasted nearly five hours,

The Riverside swiftwater rescue team responded to reports of people stranded in the Santa Ana River bottom.

Crews from a number of agencies assisted with the five-hour operation that resulted in the rescue of 10 people and 18 dogs.

AMR paramedics and EMTs checked out the victims after their rescues.
