Brett Hill
Worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the City of South Pasadena from 1986-2006. While there, also worked as Paramedic Coordinator (7 years), Acting Engineer (10 years), Acting Captain (10 years), Equipment committee, Critical Incident Stress Debriefer, USAR Coordinator and Swift Water Rescue Coordinator.
After the events of 9/11, I started the 9/11 Patch Project to create unity among all firefighters, honor the lives lost on 9/11 and raise funds for the families left behind. The project grew over 10 years to involve the participation of over 6000 organizations in 22 countries who either are wearing one of the project's 9/11 Patches or displaying the 9/11 Decals. The project is supported by the FDNY Uniformed Fire Officers and funds support the Bravest Scholarship Fund, Terry Farrell Fund and the Feal Good Foundation.
Currently, the 9/11 Patch Project and Fire Careers have teamed up and are touring the nation's fire departments for the 10 Year Anniversary of 9/11. The tour is about having fellowship with firefighters and the communities they serve, recruiting organizations to wear the 9/11 Patches, gathering photos of organizations with the bus, and raising funds for the above mentioned charitable organizations.
