Retired DeKalb County firefighter Scott Corley suffered a heart attack during a softball game in Suwanee and off-duty police officers saved his life.

Three off-duty Gwinnett County police officers saved the life of a retired DeKalb County firefighter during a softball game.

Scott Corley ran to the outfield of the Suwanee ballfield to retrieve a few balls that had been hit behind the fence when he was stricken.

"Apparently, when I got out there, I collapsed," Scott Corley told Fox5Atlanta.com.

When the coach saw Corley collapsed, he called out for help and the three police officers - JJ Legg, Tomas Rodriguez and Coty Stewart l - responded to the call and started CPR and used a defibrillator.

"I owe my life to them," he said.
