SAN DIEGO
--
San Diego police are searching for two men who fled the scene after crashing a minivan into a fire hydrant in Grant Hill on Monday.
The crash occurred at about 10:45 p.m. at 28th Street and G Street and sent water shooting into the air.
City crews and firefighters had the water turned off within 45 minutes, but in that time, 317,000 gallons of water was wasted.
The water shot into the power lines, but utilities in the area were not interrupted.
