PASADENA, Texas
--
Two people died in a fire at a fourplex apartment building in Pasadena on Thursday.
Firefighters were called to the complex in the 800 block of Texas Avenue shortly before 3 p.m.
A man escaped the flames but went back inside to save a child, according to the fire marshal. Both died at the scene. Their bodies were found in a bathroom, firefighters said.
The victims' names were not released.
The blaze was put out quickly and contained to one building.
"There was fire galore. I mean, it was bad," neighbor Josie Perez said. "It was very bad. It was very bad."
The cause is not yet known.
