A Michigan fire department has lost its assistant chief.
Coldsprings-Excelsior Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief William Wilta, 47, answered his last call on Sept. 8.
Three hours after the emergency incident, Wilta was found dead at his residence. The cause of death has not been determined, but it appears he had a massive heart attack.
Wilta, better known as "Uncle Will," had been in the fire service for 13 years.
This brings to 59 the number of firefighters killed on duty so far this year.
