N.Y. Fire Police Struck, Possibly by Own Vehicle

The Churchtown fire police officer was flown from the scene for treatment after being run over by a pickup truck.

A fire police official was flown to the hospital after he was struck by a pickup truck in Churchtown Saturday night.

Crews were at the scene of a chimney fire on Route 27 when the parked pickup rolled over the man, according to the Register-Star.

The man, in his 70s, was flown to Albany Medical Center.

Officials told WRGB-TV that they believed the pickup belonged to the fire police officer.

The fire was reported at 6:30 p.m. and crews cleared the scene by 8 p.m.
